Exciting change in our Office & Wraparound

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Miss Lucy will be stepping into the role of Academy Club Coordinator for our wraparound and holiday clubs here at Woodslee. While she will continue to be in the office until later in May, you'll soon start to see her involved in both Breakfast and After-School Clubs. This is an exciting new chapter, and we have no doubt she will excel in her new position. Please join us in congratulating Miss Lucy on this fantastic opportunity!

We are excited to announce that our very own Mrs. Stant will be stepping into the role of Administrative Assistant in the office. She will continue to teach her wonderful class alongside Miss Neil until the end of the academic year, at which point she will fully transition into her new role in September. However, you may start seeing her more in the office as she begins offering support and getting to know all of you even better. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome — we know she’ll do an outstanding job, as she already has strong relationships with both our staff and students.

Important Notice: Playground Equipment Usage After School

We’ve noticed that some families are using the wooden playground equipment on our KS1 field after school. Due to insurance reasons, this play equipment can only be used during the school day when supervised by Woodslee staff. It is therefore prohibited for public use out of school time.

We want everyone to have a safe place to play, so it’s really important to take care of the playground.

Thank you for your continued support

    Parking Update

As you are aware, the area around the academy  becomes very busy at these times, and unfortunately, the way some cars are currently being parked is creating a dangerous situation for our children. To ensure the safety of all pupils, we kindly ask that you park a little further away from the school and walk the remaining distance. This will help to reduce congestion and improve visibility for pedestrians and other drivers.

    Please remember to:
โœ… Park in areas away from the school gates
โœ… Avoid stopping in no-parking zones or blocking driveways

The safety of our children is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in making the school run safer for everyone. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Parking restrictions like double yellows and zigzags are there for the safety of pupils (and the general public), allowing them a safe place to cross the road. They are also enforceable by fines issued by police or parking enforcement.

Please see information within the letter at the bottom of this newsletter.

Last week, Year 6 represented us in Manchester for the trust-wide GoIT computing competition. The challenge was to design a web app that addresses a community issue. After their trip to New Brighton beach, they created an innovative rubbish-finding app that turns cleaning up into a fun game, with levels to work through, points to earn, and even a feature to locate the nearest recycling centre. We’re thrilled to announce that Woodslee’s app came THIRD! ๐Ÿคฉ What an incredible achievement – well done, everyone!
