Headteachers Welcome

On behalf of the staff and Governors of Co-op Academy Woodslee, a warm welcome to you and your family to our school and website.

At Co-op Academy Woodslee, our belief is:

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

Albert Einstein

I am delighted to be writing to you as the new Headteacher of Co-op Academy Woodslee.

I feel extremely honoured and privileged to be taking on my new role and fully intend to continue to build upon the success the school has already achieved under the leadership of Miss McShane. Within our wonderful school, we have a hugely committed team of staff and the most incredible children, which of course, is a great place for any new head to start!

During my time in education, I have held many different roles, including a previous Headship at another Wirral school and Head of Special Educational Needs and Disability for the Local Authority. Throughout all my roles, Inclusion has always been my driving force. I believe passionately that the school should be a place of care, love and tolerance.

During her headship, Miss McShane worked tirelessly to make this school community the very best it can be. Rest assured, I will be continuing her strive for excellence and many of the expectations, traditions and events that are part of our school will continue. As with any new leadership, there will be some changes to come, but you can be confident that I will always have the best interests of your children at the forefront of my intentions.

It is the responsibility of my staff and I to ensure that the highest standard of teaching and learning is achieved for all pupils at Co-op Academy Woodslee and I want us to capitalise on the `Power of Parents` to support us in accomplishing this for your child.  In the near future we will be inviting parents into school for assemblies, coffee mornings and to share our learning.  I look forward to working with you in partnership to secure the very best outcomes for your children.

Kind regards,
Ms Katy Bergman
