  • Find out what Year 4 have been learning about!

    Published 29/09/22

Year 4 have been developing their understanding of place and value last week. They have been rolling the dice to create four-digit numbers that they can round to the nearest 10 and 100.

In Science, pupils have been creating simple circuits and drawing each component using the correct symbols.

The children have loved learning all about the Anglo-Saxons in History and have studied the importance of chronological order, primary and secondary sources, and have learned all about Alfred the Great, creating a fact file about all the things that earned him his title.

Check out how much fun we’ve had below!

We have made sure that our school community understands what it means to be seeking sanctuary and the issues surrounding forced migration.

    MS. MCGOWAN: SENDCO

We are delighted to have become a School of Sanctuary after receiving accreditation from City of Sanctuary UK. These awards recognise and celebrate those who go above and beyond in welcoming people who seek sanctuary.

Our school has always been inclusive and welcoming, celebrating the diversity that makes our community so wonderful. Recently we have worked hard to make sure our school community understands what it means to seek sanctuary and the issues surrounding forced migration.

A big part of this was our successful Refugee Week – a week in which we celebrated all of the different cultures and faiths, and learned about the different languages of everyone who help make our school community as strong as it is.

SENDCo Ms. McGowan said: “We were so proud to receive our award at Birkenhead Town Hall this week. We will continue to celebrate diversity and to offer a warm welcome to all those that would like to be part of our community.”
